Duct Cleaning
- Home Service Group Inc/ Reid Home Heating & Cooling, 613-233-1115 (Recommended by owner of unit 37 - This company does not use a large vacuum truck parked in front of your unit. It is a portable vacuum unit with rotating brushes at the end of long hoses that they carry from room to room. They took before and after pictures and the results were excellent. It may be more expensive than other company (for 24-30 outlets, it was $529+tax), but the service was excellent - they used rubber matted carpets to protect flooring and they were on site for almost 7 hours to do my house.)
Flat Roofing
- JW Roofing Ltd 613-407-2436 justin@jwroofing.ca. Has 20 years experience with torch-on flat roofs like those in Kings Landing. If your roof needs replacement and is not leaking, it does not need to be removed. It can be cleaned and another roofing membrane applied on top. It is less time consuming and therefore less expensive alternative than a complete tear-down and replacement, and it offers the same warranty. (This contractor has not yet been used by an owner of Kings Landing)
Painting
- "Charron & Son Painting and Decorating Inc" 613-834-2374. (Recommended by the owners of unit #27 for painting the interior of the entire home.)

ReplyDeleteFor small-scale flat roofing needs, it probably isn't economical engaging a consultant, but if you're consolidating the work of all units in one block, you might want to consult an engineer experienced in flat roofing and building envelope.
